ENGAGING A SPA CONSULTANT FOR SUCCESS
Opening a spa is all-exciting, yet the list of questions and decision-making is like counting bubbles in a thermal spring.
Imagining a spa and getting it to operational mode is a complex undertaking. Executing and planning the key tasks and strategies requires the skill and guidance of an expert to streamline this multi-faceted process.
And that’s where a Spa Consultant can streamline and elevate the process. At Marie Adele Co, I work with hoteliers, spa entrepreneurs, and wellness professionals to launch your project into the world.
Unravelling and defining the complexities and smoothing the way forward for success, a Spa Consultant is the voice and communicator of the project. Their insight simplifies the process and offers a deeper awareness of requirements for a more creative and progressive outcome. It’s one of the most valuable assets you can bring to a project.
From my decades of experience, collaborating with a Spa Consultant is an investment for today and tomorrow. Skilled in concept, design and management, a Spa Consultant advises, directs and manages each stage from conception, pre-opening to full spa operation.
Over the years, we’ve implemented effective strategies and solutions and provided the level of service that takes the stress out of bringing a spa to life. What you need from a spa consultant is the ability to merge the vision and values with mainstays to successfully navigate and define the multi-layers of a spa business.

What is the process of working with a spa consultant?
Tapping into decades of spa consulting expertise, we steer the process at each stage through these core services:
~ Feasibility Study
~ Concept Design
~ Development and Design
~ Pre-Construction
~ Pre-Open
~ Soft Open
Feasibility Study
This initial step is a critical and detailed phase to evaluate and determine the alignment of the spa’s vision, financial viability, audits and market suitability.
The scrupulous and detailed analysis includes revenue forecast and financial goals, prospective location, site suitability and size, market demand, trends, and competition, including the wants and needs of the intended/target customers.
Concept Design
This phase establishes and forms the design concept of the spa, encompassing its overall operation, functionality, set up, ambiance, character, identity and philosophy.
A clear design concept is key as it sets the scene and reflects in decisions such as identity, décor, layout, equipment and treatment services. The interior designer is also involved in this phase.
Design Development
During this reviewing stage, we advise and liaise with designers to create the desired space fitting and overall vision as agreed in the Design Concept phase. The purpose is to ensure it translates to a visually striking space, with an efficiently flowing and functional layout (for staff and clients) and an aesthetically welcoming and pleasing environment. Balancing aesthetics boosts client relaxation, overall atmosphere and a more effective day to day spa business.
A check of finishes, lighting, music, joinery/materials, fittings, equipment, services along with relaxation, post treatment and quiet areas and treatment rooms.
Pre-Construction
Working and advising side-by-side with the Construction and Project Manager, we re-examine technical and logistical elements along with specific spa design requirements, as previously agreed upon. This ensures a smooth building process without challenges, delays or unexpected costs.
We advise on permits and organise contractors for specialised installation such as spa equipment, plumbing and other requirements for a functional and safe spa environment.
Pre-Open
With completion nearing, we enter a ‘high volume’ presence on-site setting up, directing, guiding, co-ordinating, managing, perfecting and formalising all business development and ensuring the spa team is equipped to maintain the highest of standards. To include:
Policies and Procedures
Operation, essential software and POS systems
Marketing and Branding for a strong identity
Print Media and Collateral
Spa launch
In addition to:
Preparing the spa team
Refining spa services menu
Developing client packages/journeys
Organising/assisting with spa recruitment and training
Soft Open
The fine-tuning stage, like a dress rehearsal, we ensure all operations of the spa run smoothly. On-site direction, assistance and co-ordination with Spa Manager and Management team to observe and oversee operational needs, quality control and spa ambience. This all-important phase allows identification and resolution of any issues prior to launch.
Engaging a spa consultant means that you reach launch day with confidence, on time and budget and with a forward plan that sets you up for success. When viewed from that result, engaging a spa consultant could make all the difference.
